PR Articles
It’s often been said that there is no such thing as bad publicity. In fact, with good press relations, or PR, it is possible to transform even the devil into a popular action figure. PR involves the management of the information flow between a business and its public. One fundamental PR technique is the identification of a target audience. After zeroing in on this target, messages are then tailored to appeal to the subjects. More often not, specific segments in a given population become the subjects of PR targeting. Another technique is called “spinning”. A spin is a specially chosen slant, so preferred because it presents someone or something in a very favorable light. Spinning methods include cherry picking, or selectively presenting only the facts that support one’s position and the non-denial denial, which involves the use of euphemisms to confuse audiences. An example would be, “There’s no way I would condone such an action, but it’s also possible that given the circumstance, I may have.” This section contains articles relating to PR and the topics that are under its umbrella.
